BRIEF The transformation of an iconic modernist building on the Athos coastline into a 105-room Casa Cook hotel. Positioned at the foothills of the region’s historic monasteries, the hotel encompasses guestrooms alongside a considered F&B and wellness offering, including a restaurant and spa.

CONCEPT The interiors reinterpret Casa Cook’s relaxed, tactile identity through a subtle reference to the monastic context of Athos. Rough, honest materials, layered drapery and finishes designed to patina over time create spaces that feel quiet, enduring and grounded, while celebrating the character of the existing mid-century architecture.

CHALLENGES Balancing a recognisable Casa Cook identity with the strong architectural heritage and cultural context of the site. Working within the constraints of the existing structure across guestrooms, F&B and wellness spaces required a considered approach to materiality and intervention, allowing the new interiors to feel contemporary while maintaining a sense of permanence and respect for the building’s original character.
