Brief A concept proposal for twelve environmentally conscious bush cabins in Mullaway, New South Wales. Conceived as a holistic, meditative retreat, the cabins are connected by a network of pathways woven through the existing landscape.

Concept A sensitive, low-impact response to the Australian bush, with cross-laminated timber (CLT), passive design principles and a restrained material palette shaping a simple and immersive retreat experience. A local art program that showcases a rotation of local artists works and foraged materials (ceramic clay tiles from foraged clay from local riverbeds).

Challenges Balancing the ambition for a secluded guest experience with the efficiencies of a repeatable cabin typology. Positioning and connecting the cabins to minimise intervention within the landscape while maintaining a strong relationship between architecture and nature.
